On April 3, Toyota announced its willingness to make available free of charge 24.730 of its patents for electric car systems. In particular, patents will be granted for vehicles equipped with an electric hybrid system, electric motors, differentiators, power supplies and vehicles equipped with fuel cells. Toyota has also announced that it will provide its technical support for manufacturers who want to implement technologies protected by patents under license. The granted period will end in 2030 and the concession agreements will be drawn up by contacting Toyota directly to define the license terms. This decision is part of the company's strategy to reduce emissions and improve the sustainability of its products and plan called the "Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050" and aims to impose its technology as a standard in the electric car industry.
